4 Creative Ways to wear a Headscarf

by Elizabeth Kookarkin |

At Gabdala, we can’t live without our headscarves - what’s not to love about them? Headscarves are the perfect way to add a new flair of class or fun to your outfit. Headscarves are all over the runway at the moment, with brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs embracing the new trend. And with Pipsilk selling their beautiful scarves on our website now, why don’t you give it a go? Here are 4 creative ways to tie a headscarf to elevate your fashion to runway status.

1. Front-tie bow

This is probably the simplest type of knot to create. All you need to do is fold the scarf into a long, thin rectangle, take the centre of this rectangle and place it at the nape of your neck. Then, bring the scarf forward towards one ear, holding one end of the scarf in each hand. Then, just tie a simple bow, just like you learnt how to when tying your shoelaces. It’s that simple

    2. Top-knot

We LOVE this one. It looks so complicated, but it is so simple! All you need to do is make a bun on the top of your head, near the crown. Firstly, fold a square scarf into a fairly even triangle. Place scarf at nape of neck, bringing the two skinniest edges forward to the centre of the forehead, tying a simple knot. Then, bring the leftover triangle at the back of your head over your bun. Tie another knot, creating a double knot securing the triangle point, and tuck the skinny points into the scarf!

    3. A Knot in my Hair

This one is also really nice to keep your hair out of your face. Take either a skinny scarf and fold it in half, or a square scarf and fold it into a skinny rectangle. Then, centre the scarf at the base of the neck, bringing it up to the centre of the forehead. Then, twist the tails around twice, bringing it back to the base of the neck and tie a simple double knot.

    4. French knot

If you don’t feel comfortable tying a scarf around your head, try your neck! Take a scarf and wrap it around your neck, with the ends at your back. Bring the ends forward and loosen the loop so it is comfortable around your neck. Then just tie a simple bow and get ready to WOW!
