We love it when fashion can be used for a good cause. This happened when we ventured out to Newcastle Racecourse to support the Pink Race Day to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. With over 2200 attending, they were able to raise a remarkable $70 000 for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) on the day! This brings the total raised funds for this amazing organisation to over $300 000, an overwhelming amount for an amazing cause.
Foundation president Lisa Bartley said the Pink Race Day was a vital fundraising event for the organisation - “It not only brings the community together to raise awareness, but it has ensured that support is available for those experiencing breast cancer in the Hunter,” she said. “While research into prevention and treatment is saving lives, people diagnosed with breast cancer still need to endure painful and prolonged treatments that can have a profound effect on their, and their family’s, everyday lives.”
HBCF provides women and men who are battling breast cancer in the Hunter region the necessary support and care, as well as a helping hand to help them through their journey. Here at Gabdala, we truly believe that supporting others is so important, hence why we attended the Pink Race Day 2018.
The day was filled with laughs and joy, surrounded by like minded people to support people in the Hunter region who are battling breast cancer. Gabdala co-founder Lizzie was even nominated for ‘best dressed female’, with her stunning hot pink pantsuit, and came out a champion! She looked stunning!
